SUREN'S TEA, A story of a tea boy turning into a tea merchant.

Suren's tea serves as a starter to start a day afresh and with renewed energy for every tea lovers, so our slogan our tea is "YOUR ENARGY CHARGER". In the year 1935/36 a boy of 10 with full of hopes and aspiration in his eyes came to KOLKATA for earning livelihood. He got a shelter at a tea stall. Then days rolled into month’s and into years. After a few years he got a berth at a tea shop where the flavor of tea opened a new world before him. Day by day he got accustomed with tea flavor and business. Nobody knows what destiny writes for a man. With the help of a generous heart Sri Biharidas Mohanto, he fortunately managed a small space on Strand Road beside of UCO BANK, Strand Road Branch and his wheel of fortune started rolling. He became a good blender and tester of tea and popular tea merchant as well. Then in 1989 his only son Sri Gopal Chandra Jana took all responsibility of the business. His business acumen and super human efforts helped the business to take an upward trend. His fame and popularity to the customers helped him to became a member of TEA AUCTION under CALCUTTA TEA TRADERS ASSOCIATION in 2001 and a member of TEA BOARD. He involved himself in tea auction as a buyer member. As an ideal son of Surendra Nath Jana, the founder of Suren's Tea he started research quality from CTC, DUST, ORTHODOX, DARJEELING tea. Because of these, customers throng at his tea shop like bees and even the flavor of his blending started reaching in different parts of our country and try to paving its way to international arena. Actually regarding price and quality they are very particular and think every customer as a part of GODDESS LAKSHMI. Since last few years Gopal babu got four new and energetic hands, Mr. Samrat Jana and Souvik Jana joined the company, so the business got diversified . They brought variety mixing and best quality tea under 'SULAKSHM' brand, that got a very good popularity among tea lovers. A devotee of SWAMI VIVEKANAND, Gopalbabu gives a top priority to his customer of Retail and Wholesale in his business. Now a day from year 2017-18 they had introduced 'CUSTOMER ID ‘card where they add amount in every purchase of one year. At the end of year according to the amount of total purchase customers get cash benefit as a part of business profit. At present near about 2500 customers have this ID card. With the passage of time everything has been changed. But SUREN'S TEA is fixed at its aim. Capitalizing the faith of the tea lovers Suren's Tea should uphold its standing glory and goodwill in the coming days, month and years confidently in KOLKATA and even in national international arena. At the end of the story we want to say that like others big houses SUREN'S TEA'S path was not smooth sailing, their path also full of thrones lying scattered under their feet and they struggled honestly and it is on too. They also got an umbrella named Sri Sanat Kumar Paul who covered many difficult situation and many obstruction as a guardian of the firm.
